Why We Got Started
White Fern was started in 2018 as a way to help people share their stories in compelling ways with clients and customers.
We were coming from the world of Affiliate Marketing, where the tools of SEO and content production are used to sell physical products to a wide consumer audience. This environment is great to learn deeply the craft of digital marketing, but in the end we felt a profound lack of deeper connection and meaning.
White Fern was an intentional shift to use digital marketing in a more human centric way.
Putting Story and Relationship at the Center
Over the course of working with many clients, we’ve come to realize and see our job essentially as making introductions between real people.
When we start a new project or work with someone new, we’ve found most people want to share who they are as people, what they’re working on, and ultimately how they think and go about their work.
To most people it comes down to forming the beginning of a human relationship with their viewers, as if they were introducing themselves and sharing their vision in person. Our job is to help people do this in a highly compelling way.
Becoming a Partner for the Long-Term
When we start work with someone new, we try to not just offer a service, but form a partnership for the long term.
We’ve seen this come true with most of our clients. From initiative to initiative, clients have come back to us to help shape a narrative, present something new that they’re woking on, or just to keep the conversation going in anticipation of something exciting that’s upcoming.
These long-term partnership relationships are ultimately why we started White Fern, and one of the achievements we’re most proud of as a designers and digital marketers.
